I like words and writing very much but I prefer using a visual language.

Images always had the power to bypass my questioning mind and to land straight into the centre of my heart. With years, I learned, that receiving an image and expressing myself through images is my preferred way of communicating with myself, and… with my Soul.

When the Soul wants to experience something she throws out an image in front of her and then steps into it.
— Meister Eckhart

For this first post, I wanted to create some kind of tangible representation of this virtual container. The idea of boxes came to mind. I vaguely remembered from reading, many years ago, Twyla Tharp’s book The Creative Habit, that she always started her projects with a box. For her, a box was a storage that allowed her to feel organized. For me, in this case, it is a representation of what I want this space to be but can’t name and express it yet. The boxes themselves, were inspired by a book cover - Clare Youngs’ Creative Collage.

1. Find or create a small box.
2. Print or cut out from magazines some images that speak to your Soul.
3. Take a glue stick and a deep breath.
4. Watch what happens.

* If you decide to play along, take a picture of your box and post on Instagram with the hashtag #magiccontainer + tag me @rainbowsylvia – I would love to see what you have created!
